In the Blue Spring Lake area, the four seasons reveal the brilliant visual varieties to
the Kettle-Moraine landscape. Indeed, Wisconsin's four seasons are a sight to
behold from any locale; but no location captures the imagination as much as the Blue Spring Lake.
In the summer, many residents take advantage of the gorgeously clear lake to enjoy water
sports. On any given day, one can feel the thrill of waterskiing, wakeboarding, boogie boarding,
tubing and jet skiing. For a more leisurely day on the lake, others prefer fishing or a nice, relaxing
trip around the lake on a pontoon boat. Of course, a nice swim is the preferred activity for many
Blue Spring residents. For those who also want to more fully experience t he terrain of the
Kettle-Moraine forest, which offers some of the nation's best bike trails regardless of
your technical proficiency. Others prefer road biking, as the roads of the Kettle-Moraine
make for a breathtaking biking experience. Every summer, hundreds enter a bike race held
nearby Blue Spring Lake at the La Grange General Store (approx. 4 miles away). Taking to the
horse riding trails is another wonderful activity. Many others choose instead to hike through the
Kettle-Moraine; which offers a more intimate experience with nature. In fact, about a half mile
down Highway H is Bald Bluff, the highest point in Jefferson county, offering a beautiful view of
the surrounding landscape. In the fall, the Kettle-Moraine trees burst into a wide array of colors,
accenting the waters of Blue Spring Lake. This is a perfect time for hiking, biking or a pleasant
walk around the lake. If hunting is of prime importance, many hunting seasons begin in the early
fall, such as: deer, duck, goose, and squirrel hunting. With the state land surrounding Blue Spring
Lake, there is no shortage of land for hunting game. During the winter, the area takes on a whole
new dimension. The lake freezes over and takes on a movie-like appearance. Winter activities
are endless as well. Many choose to snowmobile in and around the Kettle-Moraine; others
prefer ice-fishing, sledding, and the childhood pleasures of playing in the snow. With the spring
comes a renewed sense of beauty, as the snow melts and the flowers and trees bloom. The Lilacs
found in the area create a wonderfully-scented bouquet for those who enjoy the fresh air of spring.
During this time, many residents enjoy a nice walk around the lake again in anticipation of the summer.
Indeed, Blue Spring Lake is an area for all seasons.
Its beauty is striking and truly memorable.
